Angle the knife about 45 degrees and run it in downwards motions until the hole is filled.
Remove dried spackle from floor.
Pour an anti mastic or adhesive remover onto the area where the spill occurred if the compound has dried.
Prep the area by removing loose drywall around the perimeter.
If after drying a white film remains on the surface of the floor wipe it up again with a fully rinsed out sponge.
Next use a damp rag over the dried paint if the scraping doesn t remove the drip try rubbing the surface of the paint with a damp not wet rag.

Chip off large chunks of spackling with a small metal putty knife.

Wipe the area dry with a dry clean towel to eliminate any spackle residue.
Step 3 sand the remaining spackling in a circular motion with a piece of 120 or 150 grit sandpaper.
You do not need to prime over a hole repaired with spackle unless you are spackling an exterior area.

Use painter s tape to isolate the part of the floor where the compound has dried so that you don t get any adhesive remover on the part of the floor that is not covered in the compound.
